Tevar, starring Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha hit theatres on 9th January, 2015. If you like Salman Khan movies, this one’s for you. Arjun Kapoor is every bit the hot blooded youth. Pintoo is a local kabbadi player from Agra who single handedly makes his team win…. After a long running sequence to establish that he’s into running, fighting and also has a lot of strength. It’s something we’ve seen Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar do countless times in all their movies, but yet, one can’t deny the fact that despite being a bad movie, Tevar is a one time watch.
That being said, Arjun is absolutely drool worthy through the movie. He punches, throws kicks, breaks haddis and necks with swagger. He brings his own style into the movie and makes you believe he’s the hero that you want in your galli. Sonakshi Sinha as Radhika, playing the teekhi damsel in distress…. is just there. She has a few dialogues, but is mostly as inactive as a lamp throughout. Her only role in the movie is to make Gajender Singh fall madly in love with her while dancing to ‘Radha Nachegi’ a song that sounds more like a modernised bhajan. The star of the movie for me however, is Manoj Bajpai – Gajendar Singh, the brother of an MLA is every bit the younger brother who always gets what he wants. With witty dialogues, and no pants, he steals the show.
What I loved about Tevar, was the relationship between Pinky and Pintu, the dialogues, witty character names, the background music and of course Arjun Kapoor. If you’re a huge Arjun fan, only then must you watch this movie out of pure love for him. Or else, miss it!
