One Last Ride : A Fitting Tribute

If you’re a fan of the Fast & Furious Series, you were definitely waiting for 3rd April more than you’ve waited for anything else. Unfortunately, this time, there was a sense of tragedy in the air with Paul Walker’s unprecedented death. Never the less, Fast & Furious 7 made for a fitting tribute to Paul.

The story picks up where the last one left off. Jason Statham, the big bad brother is back for vengeance and hell bent on killing the crew that killed his brother. Dominic Torreto’s family. He proves to be a worthy adversary in terms of action. Of course when you see the Transporter, The Rock and Dominic Torreto engaged in martial arts, you know the action is going to be awesome.

But of course, the life of Fast and Furious as always ar the cars. The revving engines, the stunts and the death defying wheel action. There are a few scenes in the movie which quite literally had me gasping for breath. Also, can I just quickly say I loved Ali Fazal, no matter how small his role was. But what truly was the highlight for me, was the tribute they paid Paul Walker in the last 20 minutes. I must admit, I did get a little teary eyed. It is only in the last 20 minutes that you will truly experience Paul’s absence. While the makers had to use Paul’s brothers as a stand in and had his face morphed over theirs, there is an eeriness about him in the last 20 minutes, something almost spectral which makes you realise the truth. Paul Walker’s absence.

I loved the movie basis the stunts they’ve pulled off, the action, and of course Paul Walker.

He’s where he belongs. Home.

Rest in peace, Paul. You’ll be forever missed!
